The pyrohydrolytic determination of fluoride. I. The effect of activators on the temperature at the beginning of hydrolysis

Abstract: The effect of the activators Al₂O₃, Al(OH)₃, SiO₂, TiO₂, V₂O₅, and WO₃ on the temp. at the beginning of the pyrohydrolytic decompn. of the fluorides in Pt app. was described. V₂O₅ and WO₃ have good activation capacity but cannot be used because they pass over into the condensate and the results are not reproducible. TiO₂ and SiO₂ are effective activators, the others are selective.
