The paper chromatography of thio-6-azauracils

Abstract: Paper chromatography of substituted derivs. of thio-6-azauracils in 1:1 BuOH-5% NH₃ was described. Substituents I (R, Rf, and Rm given): H, 0.18, 0.659; Me, 0.25, 0.477; Et, 0.37, 0.231; amyl, 0.73, -0.432; Ph, 0.55, -0.087. II (R, Rf given): H, 0.32, Me, 0.41; (substituents in 6-azauracil, Rf given): 5-methyl-2-methylthio, 0.44; 5-phenyl-2-methylthio, 0.65; 1,3-dimethyl-4-thio, 0.89; 1,3,5-trimethyl-2,4-dithio, 0.94; 5-methyl-2-carboxymethylthio, 0.06.
