The vibrating platinum electrode in oscillographic polarography
R. Kalvoda
CSAV, Prague.
Abstract: In a.-c. oscillographic polarography, a vibrating Pt wire electrode was used to analyze solns. of Au+++, Ag+, Hg+, Cl-, Br-, and I- in M HNO3 and M H2SO4. The inflections on the curve dE/dt = f(E) corresponded to the formation of the free elements from their ions, and vice versa. After 5 min. of d.-c. electrolysis with the same electrode as cathode, Au+++, Ag+, and Hg+ could be detd. in concns. of 10-6M. Halogen ions could be detd. in concns. of 10-3-10-2M.
