Oscillographic polarography of alkaloids in ipecacuanha root. Comparison with papaverine alkaloids

Abstract: Emetine, O-methylpsychotrine, and emetamine from ipecacuanha root were detd. by oscillographic polarography, and compared with the papaverine group. Emetine compares favorably with 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropapaverine, O-methylpsychotrine with 3,4-dihydropapaverine, and emetamine with papaverine.
