Ascaridole content in Chenopodium ambrosioides, found in Slovakia

Abstract: C. ambrosioides contains 2.0% of essential oils contg. 40% ascaridole. C. botrys contains essential oil without ascaridole. The detn. of ascaridole by polarog. and IR spectrophotometric methods gives reliable results. In IR spectrophotometric detn. the wave at 882 cm^-1, corresponding to the peroxide bond for the quant. detn. of the ascaridole, should be considered. The iodometric titrn. gives higher results and it is not specific for ascaridole.
