pH chromatography of antibiotics. III. Basic antibiotics

Abstract: cf. CA 56, 5213i; 58, 412h. Basic antibiotics, such as erythromycin, oleandomycin, and spiramycin, were studied by pH chromatography. Rf curves detd. from pH chromatograms have an S shape and their occurrence is reverse as in the case of acid antibiotics. pH chromatogram data on the isolation of basic antibiotics by extn. methods agree with data obtained by com. methods.
