Adsorption equilibriums of carbon disulfide on active carbon. II. An application of potential theory

Abstract: cf. CA 54, 16986i. The validity of the potential theory in the adsorption of CS₂ on the active carbon Supersorbon was proved. In calcg. equil. values of CS₂ from 1 equation of CS₂ adsorption isotherm, at 0 to 40° max., the errors are 3.0%. For an affinity coeff. of CS₂, an exptl. value of 0.61 was detd. with which adsorption isotherms of CS₂ from equil. values of benzene were calcd. The errors were as much as 7.0%. This proved that the potential theory gives only approx. calcn. of equil. values of various gases.
