Abstract: By thermal and visual analyses, the cryolite angle of the system Na3AlF6-Al2O3-CaF2-NaCll (I) was studied. The liquidus of the system Na3AlF6-Al2O3 (II) was proven. This was a simple eutectic system composed of 15.7% Al2O3; the temp. of eutectic crystn. was 939°. The liquidus diagram of the cryolite angle of I was constructed. The addn. of NaCl decreased the temp. of primary crystn. by fusion of II in the area of primary crystn. of Na3AlF6. The effect of CaF2 on decrease of temp. of primary crystn. was smaller than that of NaCl. The soly. of Al2O3 in fusion was decreased with increasing concn. of NaCl and CaF2.
