Abstract: cf. C.A. 53, 20769g. Lubricating oil distillates of Gbely (Slovakia) crude oil and their chromatographic fractions were tested and the results of the n-d.-mol. wt. analysis (van Nes and van Westen, C.A. 45, 4437e) and the elementary analysis are given, together with values for the viscosity index. The fractions show the presence of aromatic-naphthenic structures which indicate a continuous transition from naphthenic to aromatic compds. with a viscosity index suitable for use in the cable industry. There is a greater no. of aromatic and naphthenic rings in the motor oil distillate than in the lighter distillate.
