The formation of ammonium strontium chloride and its crystal structure

Abstract: In mixts. of NH₄Cl and SrCl₂ heated to 200°, a double salt (NH₄)₂SrCl₄ was detd. by x-ray methods. Its body-centered cubic lattice has a const. 7.15 ± 0.01 A. and space group O5-I43. Sr²⁺ occupies position 2a, Cl^- 8c, and NH₄⁺ occupies statistically 6b.
