Esters of o-dimethylaminocyclohexanols

Abstract: The following esters of o-dimethylaminocyclohexanol with aliphatic and aromatic acids were prepd. (acid, b.p./mm. and % yield of ester, and m.p. of hemi-H2PtCl6 salt of ester given): AcOH, 95-7°/14, 69, 113-15°; EtCO₂H, 112-14°/15, 74, 136-8°; iso-PrCO₂H, 127-9°/12, 75, 127-9°; m-MeOC₆H₄CO₂H, -, 50, 110-12°; 3,4-(MeO)₂C₆H₃CO₂H, -, 58, 123-5°; 3,4,5-(MeO)₃C₆H₂CO₂H, -, 56, 132-4°. Their hypotensive properties were studied.
