The relative formation of copper, cobalt, and iron chlorocomplexes in acetone

Abstract: By spectrophotometric analysis the shift of the equil. of the ternary systems CuCl₂, CoCl₂, FeCl₃-(LiCl, NaCl, KCl, CsCl, ZnCl₂, HgCl₂-acetone, based on the relative ability to form chlorocomplexes in acetone, is as follows: Fe³⁺, Hg²⁺, > Zn²⁺ > Cu²⁺ > Co²⁺ < Li⁺, Na⁺, K⁺, Cs⁺.
