Abstract: Lab. exptl. app. for the synthesis of vinyl acetate (I) from C2H2 and AcOH on Zn acetate (II) as catalyst in gaseous phase was described. On the basis of exptl. results the kinetic equation for the synthesis of I was detd. For 2 different catalysts the activation energy and the action constant in the Arrhenius equation were calcd. The reaction temp. of 190° was found to be optimum for the synthesis. II with the active C Dezorex FB-5 was more active than with active C Bensorbon S. The optimum mole ratio of C2H2-AcOH to concn. of II and time-vol. yields was studied.
