The complexometric determination of calcium and magnesium in limestones

Abstract: A complexometric method for the detn. of Ca and Mg in the presence of NH₃ salts and a small amt. of Mg (up to 10% MgO) is described. For large amts. of Ca, a part of the NaOH soln. is added and after addn. of the major part of Complexon III, more NaOH soln. is added to bring to pH 12.0. The vol. is kept small so that in the titration the color change of the indicator is very sharp.
