The separation and photometric determination of small amounts of selenium and tellurium by thiourea

Abstract: A photometric detn. of small amts. (0.2-2.0 mg. in 5 ml.) of Se and Te in mixts. by thiourea is described. Se is pptd. in warm soln. by thiourea, dissolved in HCl + Br₂, and, after reduction, detd. photometrically. In the clear soln. Te is detd. photometrically as a Te⁴⁺ complex or after the reduction with SnCl₂.
