A quick orientation determination of quartz in ceramic earth by differential thermal analysis

Abstract: In kaoline-type earth, quartz, in the quantity higher than 5%, is detd. by differential thermal analysis. The method is based on the reversible change of β-quartz into α during cooling at 573° after heating up 1000°, which is recorded at a greater sensitivity of the galvanometer.
