Some properties of cellulose treated under high pressure
N. Karlinský
Grafocelpap, Ružomberok
Abstract: By a pressure of 10,000 kg./sq. cm. wet cellulose is reduced in H2O content to 14 to 15%, which, after drying, shows reduced swelling in 17.5% NaOH. Apparently in cellulose intermol, bonds exist which are different from H bridges. Material produced in this way is very similar to 'horn like' cellulose.
