P-P factor and its determination in cereals and Slovak mushrooms

Abstract: Nicotineamide (I) was detd. by a modification of the method of Bencze (C.A. 45, 9650f). Pb2+ was removed by H2S from the clear filtrate after pptg. protein with Pb-(OAc)2 because it reacted with phosphate regulator. In cereals the amt. of I (P-P factor) was directly dependent on the amt. of ash. In dried Slovak mushrooms (Boletus edulis and B. reticulatus) the amt. of I was extremely high, such as 1600 γ/100 g.
