Determination of lead tetraethyl in gasoline

Abstract: Five cc. of gasoline is shaken with 0.2 cc. of Br, 10 cc. of 0.1 N HCl is added to dissolve the ppt. of PbBr₂, the tube is immersed in H₂O at 100° and cooled, and Pb is detd. polarographically in the aq. layer.
