Abstract: Two electrochemical methods are suggested in order to control the surface reactivity of metallic powder particles with regard to the following electrolytic plating. It is the determination of both the open circuit potential and anodic dissolution current of a specially constructed carbon paste electrode containing the investigated powder particles. Iron powder of different granulometric classes activated by grinding, annealing, and chemical reduction was used to prove the suitability of the chosen methods. It was found that both experimental parameters reflect the state of the surface.
