 Synthesis and Stereochemistry of Selected 2-Thienylethylene Derivatives

Abstract: The preparation of 5-X-2-thienylidene derivatives by Knoevenagel condensation method is described. The stereochemistry of target derivatives was studied by ¹H  and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy and the results were confronted with those obtained in the furan series.
