Preparation of 2,4-Dichlorobenzoyl-Substituted Isoxazolines and Isoxazoles

Abstract: The synthesis of 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl-substituted isoxazolines and isoxazoles through the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of 2,4-dichlorobenzoylnitrile oxide is described. The regio- and stereoselectivity of the nitrile oxide cycloaddition with alkenes, alkynes, and oxygen-containing heterocycles is discussed. 2,4-Dichlorobenzoylnitrile oxide reacts with allylamine and yields the unexpected open-chain N-substituted amide oxime XIV and amide XV.
