Synthesis of Heterocyclic Compounds with Saccharidic Component

Abstract: A series of eighteen E- and Z-isomers of heterocyclic compounds with saccharidic component was prepared by Wittig reaction of 6-phosphoranes of D-tagatose, D-glucose, and D-galactose with 2-furaldehyde and its derivatives. 6-Phosphoranes of saccharides were generated by deprotonization of phosphonium salts with ethereal solution of n-butyllithium in the mixture of tetrahydrofuran (THF) and hexamethylphosphoric triamide (HMPTA) (φ_r  = 2 : 1) at -50°C.
