Determination of the Specific Surface of Powdered Carbon by Small-Angle Scattering of X-Rays and Sorption Methods

Abstract:  The specific surface of two activated charcoal samples was determined by the method of small-angle scattering of X-rays and the results were compared with the values of specific surface obtained by sorption methods. I t was found that notwithstanding the great specific surfaces in systems with distinctly difform structures the results of both methods were in quite a good agreement.
