Complexons. XVI. Acid-base and chelating properties of complexons of the type 1,2-diaminoalkane- and 1,2-diaminoisoalkane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acids

Abstract:  On the basis of evaluation of Potentiometrie curves the р/с values of new complexanes which form two homologous series of 1,2-diaminoalkane- and l^-diaminoisoalkane-iVjiV^'jiV'-tetraacetic acids, as well as the stability constants of their chelates with Ca²⁺, Sr²⁺, Ba²⁺ and Mg²⁺ cations were determined. The stability constants of Cd²⁺ complexes were determined by the „tren" method. Measurements were performed at ionic strength /I= 0.10 (KN0₃) and at temperature of 20°C. The influence of individual alkyl groups on changes of acid-base and chelating properties was investigated.
