Abstract: 1-(7-Oxo-5,5-dimethyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzothiazolyl-2-azo)-2-hydroxy-4,5-dimethylbenzene (I) was prepd. and its acid-base and complex-forming properties were studied. The compd. (I) forms complexes with Cu(II) in the ratio 1:1 and with Ni(II) in the ratio 2:1 in acidic media. The molar absorptivities, equil., and stability consts. were detd. by graphical and logarithmic anal. of pH curves.
