Abstract: The copper(I), iron(II), titanium(III) and chromium(II) chlorides
were determined by direct oxidimetric method with the aid of volumetric
solution of lead(IV) chloride in non-aqueous medium of dimethylformamide.
Further sodium iodide, thioglycolic acid, amylmercaptane, dodecylmercaptane,
benzylmercaptane, o-thiocresol, pentachlorthiophenol and glutathione
were determined. Phenylhydrazine chloride and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine
were determined after reaction with excess volumetric solution by titration
with titanium(III) chloride. The formal redox potential of the system
lead(IV)—lead(II) salt in dimethylformamide depends on the hydrogen
chloride content. The accuracy of the titration results is satisfactory and
it is in agreement with usual demands on accuracy of volumetric analysis.
