Cadmium metavanadate formation in solution and preparation of the crystalline product

Abstract: A light yellow crystalline cadmium metavanadate tetrahydrate Cd(V0₃)₂ . 4H₂0 was prepared. The reaction course was checked by conductometric titrations. The solubility of the above mentioned substance was found to be 2.05 . 10^-2 g/100 ml solution at 20 °C. The density  ρ= 2.78 g cm^-3 at 20 °C. The number of crystal water molecules was estimated by thermic analysis.
