Abstract: The influence of heat treatment upon the solubility of potassium in kalitrachytes
was studied in a laboratory scale. The highest solubility of potassium in 1 N-nitric acid and 2 % citric acid was found to have kalitrachyte from Kremnica which was heated
at 600 °C and kalitrachyte from Nová Baňa heated at 700 °C. Furthermore, the influence
of heating time upon t h e solubility of potassium in kalitrachytes was investigated by
means of preparations made at constant temperature. These results can be valuable
in further experimental studies dealing with the utilization of heat treated kalitrachytes
instead of non-treated, e. g. when meliorating light soils with a very low total contents
of K20.
