Thermodynamically Consistent Composition Dependence of Quantities of Mixture in Multicomponent Systems

Abstract: The paper gives an evidence that isobaric-isothermal composition dependence of molar quantities of mixing in binary systems ∆mixE=x(1-x)φ(x), introduced by Guggenheim, which is the only one consistent with the method of intercepts equation, can be generalized to an analogous relation valid for k-component systems (k>2) and all quantities of mixture.
