Adsorption equilibriums on activated carbon of phenol, p-cresol, and p-nitroaniline in aqueous solutions

Abstract: The equilibrium concentrations of phenol, p-cresol, and p-nitroaniline in aqueous solutions adsorbed on activated carbon GA-01 were experimentally determined and tested by the Langmuir isotherm. The reason for the deviations of experimental data from the Langmuir model is discussed. The adsorption equilibrium data may be correlated by the Langmuir model of two-component adsorption for the mixture of p-cresol and p-nitroaniline up to the concentration of 150 mg dm^-3.
