Coordination compounds of yttrium(III) salts with 2,2'-bipyridine N,N'-dioxide

Abstract: A new series of Y complexes of the compn. YL₄Cl₃.3H₂O, YL₂Cl₃.3H₂O, YLCl₃.4H₂O, YL₄Br₃.2H₂O, YL₃Br₃.2H₂O, YL₂Br₃.6H₂O, YLBr₃.8H₂O, YL₄I₃.3H₂O, YL₄(NO₃)₃.3H₂O, YL₃(NO₃)₃.3H₂O, YL₂(NO₃)₃.3H₂O, YL(NO₃)₃.3H₂O, YL₄(SCN)₃.2H₂O, YL₃(SCN)₃.4H₂O (L = 2,2'-bipyridine N,N'-dioxide) were prepd. and characterized by thermal anal., IR absorption spectra, elec. cond., and x-ray powder diffraction.
