Calculation of density and electrical conductivity of ternary melts. Application to the cryolite-based melts

Abstract: A formal method for calcn. of d. and elec. cond. of ternary melts is proposed. The calcn. is based on the assumption that the deviation of corresponding molar quantities from additivity can be calcd. when the contributions of boundary binary systems are known. The proposed method was tested for the case of cryolite-based melts, namely Na₃AlF₆-LiF-Al₂O₃ and Na₃AlF₆-Li₃AlF₆-Al₂O₃.
