Furan derivatives. LXXX. Synthesis and properties of substituted furfurylideneoxindoles

Abstract: Oxindoles I (R¹ = R² = H, R = H, NO₂, Cl, Br, I, Me, MeS, CO₂Me, p- and m-O₂NC₆H₄, Me₂N; R¹ = H, R² = NO₂, R = H, Cl, Br, I, Me, MeS, Ac, 4-O₂NC₆H₄; R¹ = Ac, R² = H, R = H, NO₂, Cl, Br, I, Me, MeS, NMe₂) were prepd. by condensation of oxindole, 5-nitrooxindole, and 1-acetyloxindole, resp., with the resp. furancarboxyaldehydes, some I (R¹ = Ac) were prepd. by acetylation of I (R¹ = H). UV, IR and mass spectra of I were interpreted.
