Investigation of structural changes in poly(ethylene terephthalate), polycaproamide, and polypropylene fibers by infrared absorption spectroscopy

Abstract: The effect of different deformation conditions on the structural changes in polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polycaproamide (PAD-6), and polypropylene (POP) fibres was investigated by infrared absorption spectroscopy. It was found that by a proper preparation of substances using KBr technique the spectra for quantitative evaluation of structural changes in the above types.of fibres could be obtained.
