Alternative Syntheses of Methylated Sugars. II. 3,4,6-Tri-O-methyl-D-glucopyranose

Abstract: 3,4,6-Tri-O-methyl-D-glucopyranose has been synthesized by a new synthetic route starting from 4,6-di-O-methyl-α-D-glucopyranose. The intermediates of the synthesis are l,2-0-isopropylidene-4,6-di-0-methyl-α-D-glucopyranose and l,2-isopropylidene-3,4,6-tri-0-methyl-α-D-glucopyranose.
