Furan derivatives. XX. Preparation and absorption spectra of [5-(nitrophenyl)-2-furfurylidene]pyridinecarbonylhydrazones

Abstract: By condensation of hydrazides of pyridinecarboxylic acids with 5-(4-nitrophenyl)- 2-furaldehyde, 5-(3-nitrophenyl)-2-furaldehyde and 5-(2-nitrophenyl)- 2-furaldehyde nine new, 2,5-disubstituted furane derivatives were prepared. Infrared and ultraviolet absorption spectra of the synthesized substances are interpreted.
