Gas-chromatographic determination of the boiling point of 1,2-alkene oxide

Abstract:  Boiling points of 1,2-alkene oxides, hitherto unknown, were determined by means of gas chromatography. The boiling point of 1,2-nonene oxide was found to be 188.0°C at 760 Torr and 56.0°C at 5 Torr, that of 1,2-undecene oxide 220.6°C at 760 Torr and 88.7°C at 5 Torr. Boiling points were established from the elution data of 1,2-alkene oxides mixture based upon the linear dependence between logarithm of the elution datum and the boiling point.
