Phase diagram of the Li₃AlF₆-LiF-CaF₂ ternary system

Abstract: The phase diagrams of Li₃AlF₆-LiF and Li₃AlF₆-CaF₂ were studied. A phase diagram of the ternary system Li₃AlF₆-LiF-CaF₂ was constructed. This is a simple eutectic system (25.0 mole % Li₃AlF₆, 52.0 mole % LiF, and 23.0 mole % CaF₂ with m.p. at 665°). Exptl. results were compared with thermodynamic calcns. and the results obtained with the Temkin model agree with the exptl. results.
