Calorimeter for measurement of heats of solution

Abstract: A calorimeter for detg. the heats of soln. of inorg. solns., esp. of silicates at 25°, is described. The temp. rise of 0.15° is measured with a series of 4 Pd-Pt thermocouples with their voltages being registered by a mirror galvanometer. The energy equiv. of the calorimeter is measured by elec. energy with an error ± 0.02%. The calorimeter was tested by checking the heat of soln. of KCl. The standard deviation for a single test is ±0.05%.
