Separation of the bromophenylisothiocyanate isomers by gas chromatography

Abstract: The sepn. of the mixt. of o-, m-, and p-bromophenylisothiocyanate and 2,4-dibromophenylisothiocyanate by gas chromatography was described. Of the various stationary phases, polyethylene glycol 1500 was most suitable. The sepn. was carried out at 130° in a column with 5% polyethylene glycol 1500 and 1% H₃PO₄ and with silanized 'Chromosorb W' as a carrier. It is very important that the columns be conditioned at 180° before use.
