Derivatives of ferrocenes. XI. Synthesis of halo compounds derived from acryloylferrocenes

Abstract: The addition of hydrogen halides and halogenes to acryloylferrocenes was investigated to prepare ß-halopropionylferrocenes. Starting from ß-halopropionylferrocenes and ß-diethylaminopropionylferrocene hydrochloride, respectively, l-(p-nitrophenyl)-3-ferrocenyl- Δ²-pyrazoline was prepared by condensation with p-nitrophenylhydrazine followed by a cyclization. The infra-red spectra of the above mentioned ferrocene derivatives were also studied.
