Spectrochemical determination of chromium in silicates with discharge electrodes

Abstract: A rapid and exact method for the spectrographic detn. of small amts. of Cr in silicates with three-part Cu discharge electrodes is described. A 2:1:3 mixt. of kaolin, CoO (internal standard), Li₂CO₃ (buffer) is used. For the evaluation, spectral lines of Cr 4254.33 A. (Ε = 2.91 ev.) and of Co 4110.54 A. (Ε = 4.07 ev.) were detd. From 0.001% to 0.5% Cr can be detd. The relative error is 5.6% for 0.01% Cr.
