Determination of gold in mineral raw materials by neutron activation analysis

Abstract: A silicate sample was irradiated in a nuclear reactor with a stream of neutrons, 2.4 × 10¹³ neutrons/cm.2-sec. For the isolation of 198Au, a radiosepn. method was applied. The induced activity was measured with a 400-channel scintillating γ-spectrometer and B-2 radiometer. It was possible to det. ≥2.8 × 10^-10 g. Au.
