The determination of free ethylene glycol in its polyesters

Abstract: Ethylene glycol (I) is detd. in its polyesters by means of a modified periodate method (Kruty, et al., CA 49, 1346i). The error for 1-4% I is 2-5%, for 0.2% I, ±15%. Free dibasic acids do not interfere. 21 references.
