Nickel complexes with thiourea. I

Abstract: From aq. and acetone media these new Ni complex compds. with CS(NH2)2 (tu) as ligand were prepd.: Nitu6(NO3)2, greenish monoclinic crystals, m. 168°, formed by dissolving 10 g. Ni(NO3)2.6H2O and 15.71 g. thiourea (molar ratio Ni:tu = 1:6) in 100 ml. acetone; Nitu6(ClO4)2, yellow-green crystal, m. 173°, formed by dissolving 10 g. Ni(ClO4)2.5H2O and 4.9 g. thiourea (molar ratio Ni:tu = 1:2) in 10 ml. H2O; Nitu6Br2, green-yellow powder, m. 180°, formed by dissolving 5 g. Ni(NO3)2.6H2O and 7.4 g. LiBr.2H2O in 50 ml. acetone and adding during const. mixing 7.86 g. thiourea and after 5 min. adding 3.96 g. more of thiourea (molar ratio Ni:tu:Br = 1:9:3.5); Nitu6BrNO3, yellow-green crystals, m. 171°, formed by dissolving 5 g. Ni(NO3)2.6H2O and 2.12 g. LiBr.2H2O in 100 ml. acetone and adding during const. mixing 7.86 g. thiourea (molar ratio Ni:tu:Br:NO3 = 1:6:1:2); Nitu4BrNO3, red-brown orthorombic crystals, m. 169°, formed by dissolving 2.91 g. Ni(NO3)2.6H2O, 2.19 g. NiBr2, and 6.09 g. thiourea in 100 ml. acetone (molar ratio Ni:tu:Br:NO3 = 1:4:1:1); Nitu5Br2, yellow powder, m. 170.5°, formed by dissolving 5 g. NiBr2 with const. mixing in 50 ml. acetone with 10.46 g. thiourea (molar ratio Ni:tu = 1:6) and mixed for 1 hr.; and Ni2tu7Br4, light-brown powder, m. 183.5°, formed by dissolving 6.96 g. thiourea in 50 ml. acetone and, after adding 5 g. NiBr2 (molar ratio Ni:tu = 1:4), mixed for 1 hr.
