Oscillopolarographic determination of foreign matter in food products

Abstract: An oscillopolarographic detn., with a.c. and the Hg dropping electrode, of foreign matter in food products is described. As^---, S^--, and CN^- were investigated as depolarizers in suitable electrolytes. The active substances, As₂O₃, tetramethylthiuram disulfide, CS₂, HCN alone and in solvent (CS₂-trichloroethylene), and certain depolarizers in the presence of others (HCN-CS₂) were detd. This method was reproducible, selective, and more rapid than other methods currently used.
