Use of the polarographic method in the determination of isomers and derivatives of O,O-diethyl O-(p-nitrophenyl) thiophosphates after their separation by paper chromatography

Abstract: For detn. of isomers and derivs. of O,O-diethyl O-(p-nitrophenyl) thiophosphates (parathions), a polarographic method was used after their sepn. with paper chromatography. Areas which appear spotted under ultraviolet light are cut out, then they are extd. 15 min. in 1.5 ml. soln. of basic electrolyte contg. 90% of 96% EtOH and 10% of acetate buffer soln. (0.1N AcOH ± 0.1N NaOAc). Polarographic detn. is carried out in the Nov´ak vessel with 1 to 2 ml. vol.
