The polymerization of trifluorochloroethylene without pressure

Abstract: Polymerization of trifluorochloroethylene (I) without pressure was tried in water by using the method that is used for other low-boiling monomers but with no success. Polymerization of I in pentachloroethane under normal atm. pressure at 85° by using Bz₂O₂ as initiator is described.
