The volumetric changes in the condensation of chromate anions in solution

Abstract: A dilatation 0.9-9.7 ml. per 1000 ml. soln. was measured in the condensation of chromate anions in water soln. of K₂CrO₄ acidified with 0.1-1.0M HNO₃ or H₂SO₄. The change of vol. is max. when the ratio of K₂CrO₄:H+ = 1:1. The dilatation ΔV increases with the concn.; it is not linear.
